What we fix

Repairs for trucks that get used

Bigger tires, lift kits, and trail miles wear parts out faster. This is the work we do every week.

Front-end rebuilds

Ball joints, tie rod ends, drag links, track bars, control arms, bushings, and steering stabilizers. We replace what is worn and set the geometry back where it belongs.

Death wobble

That violent shake in the steering after a bump at highway speed. We find the loose or worn parts causing it instead of hiding it behind a new stabilizer.

Steering problems

Wandering, play in the wheel, a crooked steering wheel, or a truck that will not hold its lane. We track down the cause and fix it.

Worn-out lift kits

Tired shocks, sagging coilovers, bent or cracked parts, or a kit that was never installed right. We repair it, replace it, or set it up correctly.

Axles, bearings, and U-joints

Wheel bearings, hubs, U-joints, axle seals, and the wear that comes with bigger tires and off-road use.

Engine and drivetrain

Check engine lights, leaks, cooling problems, transfer cases, and driveline vibrations on trucks and 4x4s.

Warning signs

Signs your front end needs work

  • A violent shake in the steering after hitting a bump at highway speed
  • The truck wanders and you are constantly correcting the wheel
  • Clunks or knocks over bumps or when you turn
  • Tires wearing unevenly or cupping
  • The steering wheel sits off center when you drive straight
  • A lift that sags, bottoms out, or rides harder than it used to

Our rule

We inspect before we quote

On older and lifted vehicles, we put it in the air and check tie rods, ball joints, bushings, and the frame before we give you a number. You hear about everything that is worn, not just the part you came in for, so you are not paying twice.

  1. Tell us what it is doing

Use the form below or call either shop. Tell us the year, make, model, and what you are feeling.

  2. We inspect it

We put it in the air and check the whole front end and anything related, not just the part you came in about.

  3. You approve the work

You get a written estimate and sign off before any work starts. No surprises on the bill.

  4. Fixed and road tested

We make the repair, align it when the job calls for it, and road test it before you pick it up.

Questions

Repair questions

Do you work on vehicles other than Fords?

Yes. We work on every make and model, including Jeep, Toyota, Chevrolet, GMC, Ram, Dodge, and Nissan. Stock, leveled, or lifted.

Can you fix death wobble?

Yes. Death wobble usually comes from worn or loose front-end parts like the track bar, ball joints, or tie rod ends. We inspect the whole front end, replace what is worn, and road test it. We do not just bolt on a bigger steering stabilizer and send it home.

Do you work on older and high-mileage trucks?

Yes. We inspect older vehicles before we quote, so you know about worn parts and frame condition up front. If something underneath is not safe to build on, we will tell you.

Can you fix a lift another shop installed?

Yes. We repair, replace, or correctly set up lift kits no matter who installed them.

How much does a front-end rebuild cost?

It depends on the vehicle, how it is lifted, and which parts are worn. We give you a written quote after we inspect it. Start with the form below.

Do you do engine and drivetrain repair on lifted trucks and Jeeps?

Yes. Check engine lights, leaks, cooling problems, transfer cases, driveshafts, and axles. Tell us what it is doing in the form and we will tell you the next step.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. We work by appointment at both shops. Send the form or call and we will get you on the schedule.

Which shop should I bring it to?

Whichever is closer. Bessemer covers Birmingham, Hoover, and the west side. Pell City covers Leeds, Moody, Talladega, and the east side. If a bigger job is better suited to one shop, we will tell you up front.
